Introduction to Shade-Dried Raisins
To prepare this nutritious and natural raisin, fresh Asgari grapes are harvested from the garden and hung in a shaded environment, away from sunlight and spaced apart to allow air circulation, which helps with the drying process. This method takes about 50 to 60 days for the grapes to dry, and it helps retain more of the vitamins found in the grapes. This type of raisin is green in color and contains no traditional or industrial additives, making it completely natural and healthy. It is consumed as a snack, with nuts, or as a sweetener with beverages.
Shade-dried raisins are packaged with their stems to prevent crystallization and further drying. Additionally, to prevent mold, they are not washed, so they should be thoroughly cleaned before consumption and stored in the refrigerator in sealed containers.
