This raisin is also known by other names such as “Angoori,” “Smoked,” or “Golden Yellow.” To prepare this type of raisin, the grapes are placed in a sulfur solution after being harvested, and the process for making sulfur-treated raisins is also followed in this method. After the sulfur stage, the grapes are allowed to dry, and then the smoking process begins, lasting 4 to 6 hours. Golden or smoked raisins are created by burning sulfur in a closed space, turning the raisins into a yellow-golden color. A distinctive feature of Malayer Golden Raisins is their yellow color and the strong sulfur smell.
